Drivers traveling through Pike County should prepare for delays tomorrow as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced an emergency closure of Interstate 84 eastbound to allow for guiderail repairs.
The closure will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., beginning at mile marker 30 in Blooming Grove Township. Traffic will be detoured onto Route 402 northbound, then onto Route 6 eastbound, before re-entering I-84 eastbound.
PennDOT advises motorists to seek alternate routes during the repair window to avoid potential traffic congestion and delays.
Real-time traffic updates, detour routes, and road conditions are available through 511PA, a free 24/7 resource offering traffic warnings, weather updates, speed data, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras.
