Public health is getting a pop-art twist in Ulster County, thanks to a new collaboration between artist Ryan Cronin and the Ulster County Department of Health.
At the heart of the effort is a campaign called “We Are Public Health,” which blends Cronin’s bold, signature style with a community-driven message: that public health isn’t just about government—it’s about people, relationships and shared responsibility.
Using a mix of lawn signs, stickers and QR codes, the campaign brings conversations about health out of offices and into neighborhoods, sparking dialogue in unexpected places through the power of art.
Radio Catskill’s Jamie Case speaks with Ryan Cronin, his wife and creative partner Melanie Cronin, and Mary Jane—the first artist to exhibit work at the Cronin Gallery—about how the project came to life.
