Families are invited to gather at DeHoyos Park in Monticello on Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a Community Wellness Day, co-sponsored by the Sullivan County Department of Public Health and Action Toward Independence.
The free event will offer health screenings, workshops, crafts, DIY stations, and family-friendly activities, including the popular Teddy Bear Clinic, where children can learn about doctor visits in a playful, stress-free way. A magic show, arts and crafts, and interactive vendor booths will also be featured throughout the day.
Deputy Public Health Director Jill Hubert-Simon said more than 20 community partners are participating, giving residents a chance to connect with local services while enjoying a fun day outdoors. “It’s a really good opportunity to learn about resources available in the community, spend time with family, and just enjoy a day in the park,” she said.
Organizers emphasize that the event is open to “kids of all ages” and encourages everyone—from families with young children to adults and seniors—to stop by.
