Summitville, NY — Step back in time and explore the fascinating history of the Delaware & Hudson Canal on Saturday, August 16, at the D&H Canal Interpretive Center and Linear Park in Summitville.
Cliff Robinson will present “The D&H Canal: Port Jervis to Phillipsport,” sharing intriguing details about the canal’s day-to-day operations and life along this historic waterway. The free event begins at 2 p.m., offering a unique opportunity to learn about the canal’s significance in the region.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to explore the Interpretive Center’s engaging exhibits that bring the canal era to life. Due to limited space, advance registration is recommended. Interested attendees can register by emailing scparks@sullivanny.gov or calling 845-807-0287.
The D&H Canal Interpretive Center is open every weekend through September 1. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
