Jazz lovers have a reason to celebrate this weekend as Tusten Jazz returns to Narrowsburg with two nights of live performances at the Tusten Theater and a special jazz brunch at Krauss Recital Hall. After a one-year hiatus, the festival promises a rich lineup featuring Fay Victor, Kevin Hayes, Kevin Graham, Tony Marino, Thurman Barker, Tyler Dempsey, Matthew Albeck and more.
“It’s an exciting lineup for anyone who loves jazz, especially local musicians,” said Cat Montesi of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA).
The weekend kicks off Friday night with a performance by Kevin Hayes and Kevin Graham, along with a special set by jazz vocalist Fay Victor, who will perform posthumously completed works by jazz musician Herbie Nichols with her trio.
Saturday night features a high-energy Afrobeat jazz set by Armo from Harlem, including musicians who previously played with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, followed by a tribute to the late jazz pianist Hal Galper, featuring local and regional jazz luminaries.
For those looking for a daytime event, the Catskill Jazz Brunch on Saturday at 11 a.m. offers an intimate experience at Krauss Hall with live music by Matt Hoffman and Will Sellenraad, a catered brunch, and a pop-up vinyl sale by River Town Sound in Barryville.
