Ulster County Board of Elections Launches Public Vote for 2025 “I Voted” Sticker Contest Finalists

Posted on July 7, 2025 by Tim Bruno

KINGSTON, NY — July 7, 2025 — The Ulster County Board of Elections has officially opened public voting for its fifth annual “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest, showcasing six standout designs by local student artists. The 2025 competition drew a record-breaking 376 submissions—the most in the contest’s history—from schools across the county.

A panel of volunteer judges from Ulster’s vibrant arts community helped select the six finalists, whose creative designs now face a public vote to determine the winning sticker that will be handed out to voters across the county this November.

“This contest is one of the highlights of our year,” said Commissioners Ashley Dittus and John Quigley. “It gives young people a fun and meaningful way to connect with democracy, and their creativity continues to amaze us.”

Meet the 2025 Finalists:

  • Evelyn Nystrom (15) – 10th grade, Kingston High School
A whimsical cartoon sock character on a hot pink background, with “I Voted” spelled out using sewing kit items.
  • Quentin Kemp – Saugerties Central School District
A powerful shark leaping from the ocean, chomping down on an “I Voted” sign with dramatic flair.
  • Celeste Fleisher (9) – 3rd grade, Woodstock Elementary
A rainbow-themed design with soft clouds and a cheerful, colorful “I Voted” message.
  • Scarlett Barnes (10) – 6th grade, Miller Middle School
A lovable purple three-eyed monster proudly holding up an “I Voted” sign with a toothy grin.
  • Kaylee Slade (13) – 7th grade, Saugerties Junior High School
A yellow duck decorated in patriotic stars, with a bold red “I Voted” message across the center.
  • Ryker Darmanin – 6th grade, Grant D. Morse Elementary
A humorous Statue of Liberty clutching a slice of pizza with a face—blending civic pride and local charm.

How to Vote:

Public voting is open now through August 15, 2025.
Vote online at: https://elections.ulstercountyny.gov/contest/i-voted-sticker-contest-2025/
Or visit the Board of Elections homepage: https://elections.ulstercountyny.gov

Voting is limited to one vote per IP address to maintain fairness and prevent automated entries. Voters are encouraged to use different devices (such as phones or tablets) if multiple people are voting from the same household.

Supporting Youth and Civic Pride

Now in its fifth year, the “I Voted” sticker contest continues to foster civic engagement and artistic expression among Ulster County youth. This initiative not only connects students to the democratic process but also allows the public to celebrate their talent.

The Ulster County Information Services Department provided critical support in building the secure online voting system.
